Fast Doesn’t Have to Feel Rushed: Ideas for the Holiday Crunch

holiday print material for your campaign

Well, here we are.

It’s October. The holiday campaign that was “definitely on the list” has suddenly become a very real, very urgent situation. There is an event to fill, customers to thank, or a year-end offer to promote.

No presh!

The good news: you are not out of time. The slightly less-good news: this is probably not the moment for a 14-piece, hand-assembled campaign with a custom ribbon situation. But you can still create something smart, memorable, and worth putting in someone’s hands.

Because fast does not have to look rushed.

Start with one thing

When deadlines tighten, everyone’s first instinct is to cram every possible message into one mailer. The offer! The event! The company history! The CEO’s favorite inspirational quote!

Let’s not.

Pick the one thing you want the recipient to do: visit, register, order, call, redeem, or remember you before the year ends. Then build the piece around that.

The best direct-mail campaigns do not need to win every marketing award known to humanity. They need to get noticed, make a point, and give people a clear next step.

Give them one reason to open it

You do not need twelve specialty components to make an impact. You need one solid creative idea. And a print partner who can make it happen without turning your deadline into a hostage situation.

Maybe it is a bold oversized postcard, a surprise fold, an unusual stock, a metallic accent, a branded sleeve, or a small promotional insert. One tactile detail can make the piece feel more like an experience than “another thing from a company.”

You do not have to do everything. You just have to do the right thing.

Let print hand off to digital

Add a QR code leading to an offer, event registration page, holiday menu, personalized landing page, video, or appointment scheduler. Include a promo code to track response. Give recipients one easy path from “Oh, this is interesting” to “Okay, I’m in.”

This is not print versus digital. It is print getting noticed and giving your digital campaign a much better opening line.

Move quickly, not recklessly

Have your audience list ready. Know your quantities. Keep approvals moving. Be realistic about materials and formats. And please, do not wait until the final week to decide you need something “simple but totally unforgettable.”

At Brooks Litho, we like a good challenge. Bring us the big idea, the half-formed idea, or the “we should probably do something” idea. We will help turn it into a printed experience that feels thoughtful, gets noticed, and does not scream, “We started this yesterday.”
